BlackBerry Bold 9650 Review
Jul 16th
Shortly after the launch of the BlackBerry tour after complaints from a buggy track ball and the lack of Wi-Fi in blogs and forums, had Sprint confirmed that it would be an updated version of the tour, the Wi-Fi. As it turned out that the optical trackpad was introduced at the same time in the Black Berry Curve 8530, it would be included in the refresh. The trackball was notoriously unreliable on the tour, and no doubt those who had fought with him, were eagerly looking for an alternative.
Almost a year later, Sprint came to realize promises. RIM announced the Pearl 9100 and Bold 9650 at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium in April of this year, finally offers a BlackBerry CDMA, which could properly compete with the latest available GSM carriers Bold, currently the 9700th The most notable addition that the 9650 application is an advantage over the 9700 memory (256 MB doubled to 512 MB). Was there a lot riding on such a cold, hard statistics, there were even more significant difference between the two, or they are really more or less the same, only built for various wireless standards? The BlackBerry Bold 9650 will be on Sprint and Verizon, the discerning buyer can some answers.

Hardware
The housing is identical with the tour 9630, except for replacement of the trackball with a trackpad, so there is not much new. As for size, this is just a big larger than the 9700th It’s the same keyboard with Bold frets spaces between each line, single sound port on the left side, and a single mute Lock button on the top.
Maybe it’s just my imagination, but I found the trackpad on the Bold 9650 very responsive and smooth, even compared to other trackpad toting BlackBerrys. It worked well in direct sunlight, which is usually a big problem for this type of sensors. I think the top-mounted lock mute buttons a little too easily accidentally press, but at this point seems RIM dedicated to consistently keep them there.
Overall the build quality is stable. The battery compartment is in the same style as the old tour (including the latch mechanism), but they exchanged glossy texture suitable for a matte plastic for body, and a new ridged texture for the center. Scratch it on, and in no time you can use the office’s resident DJ to be irritating.
Software
The BlackBerry Bold 9650 OS is 5.0, which contains many new features, like e-mail contains flags, synchronization distribution and a mixture of aesthetic and practical updates. By default, the user interface pretty much standard grid, which you navigate with the trackpad and features for access by the menu button (left) and the Back button (right). There are many issues is to change the layout, colors, fonts, and generally offer a more colorful ride.
BlackBerry is an efficient, if sometimes highly experience. Third-party applications range from the App World feels a little compared to Android sometimes limited and iPhone often, but Google has managed most of its major products on BlackBerry, which get about usually a high priority of the benefits and Polish. GPS is always helpful, and RIM has its own BlackBerry Maps app, which is slightly above the bandwidth, but the light on the features – get Google Maps for Mobile instead. Official RIM apps for social networking and instant messaging tends to be good, and the integration with the native messages and address book applications.

Now is the big plus of the Bold 9650 with the 512 MB memory by APP. It is the first BlackBerry dial memory, high, and it is an absolute godsend. My daily driver is the Bold 9000, which is stuck with 128 MB memory by APP – an amount that you have to supervise properly or regularly suffer, while mixing of the OS, to make room everyday after downloading files such as Web pages, waiting for emails, and the like. In this way, app store is more than just how much software you can plug in your phone, but also how much space they wind has to work. I am glad to say that was with the Bold 9650, I am able to load up all the apps I needed, even the ones that I had tears on my left side 9000 votes, to just work, and still have room to do for the BlackBerry, his thing. I have not much more than a week with equipment that had the 256 MB, but it is mostly from memory not an issue; in the mark 512 MB, the situation quite luxurious. Most future BlackBerrys, including the next GSM Bold 9800 and the forthcoming meeting slider this standard, although the lower end of BlackBerrys, such as the Curve 9300 “Kepler” is sitting at 256 MB for now.

RIM will sell the Blackberry Curve 8520 in Brazil
Mar 12th
Looks like RIM is heading south, to South America. In a recent interview RIM’s Jim Balsillie Co-Chief Exec of the news agency Reuters that the company would begin to BlackBerry devices in Brazil. RIM will produce the model curve 8520 in the country, signed by an agreement with Flextronics of Singapore.
I need the cap from RIM for this step tip. Brazil has the largest economy in Latin America, and for some time, I asked when they went onto the market to … and with what device. Now I know, they meet with Brazil, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 … a move that RIM has no doubt, ran to find out the numbers, it will work in their favor. Kind of sense to me. Hit a new market with a “base” or “entry” device … You know, affordable, not overwhelming, set … Then slowly increase your offer to include more deluxe models, including the Bold and Storm series. RIM has stated they are open to other models offer in the future, I suppose the success of 8520 will be the litmus test for the expansion.
Of course, no release dates, prices or carrier details have been released on how the. But stay tuned, I know we will hear more about RIM’s entry into the Brazilian market very soon.

The main external change is the new optical trackpad, which reportedly works as it should and is expected to alleviate the problems reported with the previous user trackball design.
The revamped tour included a faster processor than its predecessor, allegedly the same component in the Storm2 used. The move is claimed to alleviate the delay experienced with the previous tour. Wi-Fi has the new version and supposedly works like it should.
The Tour2 is expected to launch with Verizon sometime in the near future, although volumes remain unknown.

The Curve 8530 is now made by Sprint. It costs $ 50 with a new contract after mail-in rebate. This has a 2.5-inch display, OS 5.0, 3.5-mm headphone jack, and of course WiFi.
This is a solid piece of equipment no nonsense. without the pizazz. If you decorate some pizazz, you can always paint, dip it in gold or with a few Swarovski crystals. Not that we all forgive this.
