Sagem to launch Android phones with fingerprint identity capabilities from UPEK
Feb 10th
Sagem Wireless (manufacturer of the Porsche P’9522 mobile phone) has recently announced that it has together with its headquarters in California, UPEK, to develop cell phones with fingerprint identification capabilities.
More importantly, it looks like Sagem Android phones will start soon – the accession of the ever-growing list of large, medium and small mobile phone manufacturers that embrace Google OS (Alcatel, Gigabyte and Hisense are among the latest).
Of course, Sagem’s upcoming Android phones will have fingerprint identification capabilities.
Thanks to the fingerprint identity solution from UPEK, Sagem devices offer:
- a simplified user experience (users need to remember any usernames and passwords because they would be able to identify with a simple touch gesture)
- quick and easy purchase of mobile application stores
- fast and secure mobile payment and mobile banking services
Sagem Wireless and UPEK will be at MWC 2010, where they will present fingerprint identification capabilities for Android before.
