Nokia Nuron 5230 Review
Aug 5th
Now and then I’ll ask a call from a family member, the latest smartphone on the market. Typically, the calls, what I call “curiosity” – is there anything you saw on television to call but they are not in possession of participating. Smartphones are a long time as a tool for the tech-savvy youngster has been considered, the traveling business man, and the busy Prosumer. The Nokia Nuron 5230, on the other hand, includes mainstream devices such as Apple and Palm Pixi IPAD Plus in this first-time buyers it calls on the phone, or someone who is not required the latest and greatest. The Nuron is a no-frills smartphone that designed to provide a good bang for the buck’s supply, and it accomplishes that goal quite well.
Design & Features
Coming in at 4.37 cm and 2.03 cm wide and 0.61 cm thick, the device weighs 3.98 ounces, making it perfect for a tight pocket or handbag. The Nuron a 3.2-inch resistive touch screen offers 360 x 640 pixels and 16.7 million colors. It is not a 3.7-inch screen by any means, but it is perfect for a casual phone. In the implementation of a long telephone conversation, I found the device quite comfortably in my ear.
The Nuron sports a beautiful, polished white form factor and gray accents. The top of the unit contains the power button, 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB and loading facilities. The left side of the unit is the SIM card slot and microSD card slot (with support for up to 16 GB), while the right side of the device are the volume rocker, release button, and camera key combination. The front panel offers to send one key, menu key and end key. The decision on the SIM card and microSD card slots available to place in from the left side of the device compared to make it behind the battery was a wise one, in my opinion.

Usability & Performance
The Nokia Nuron ships with Symbian 3rd Although relatively tired design similar Symbian decent day to day tasks and is a good OS, given the demographic target of the device. The disadvantage is that many Symbian find it relatively difficult to use (compared to other smartphone operating systems on the market), leading to a slightly longer learning curve compared to other devices. The Nuron offers a number of shortcut icons on the main screen, scroll to make it easy for the user popular services. Addition to the benefits, device also offers Ovi Nokia Maps is free service – a nice savings compared to competitors like AT & T Navigator and VZ Navigator (both are $ 9.99 monthly). The maps are downloaded to the device before use, you may be with or without active duty to navigate. On the subject of Ovi services Nuron 5230 provides access to Nokia’s Ovi Store. With retailers, content from more than 65 countries around the App Store is growing fast.
The keyboard on the Nokia Nuron offers an ample amount of tactile feedback when it is a bit different arrangement than the traditional QWERTY. Consolidated into four rows, the space bar to the right is centered, and the keyboard letters are centered on the left side of the screen. After a few days, I was there with you and give a fair amount of getting used to speed, but it can be very frustrating for those who e-mails or text messages on a regular basis. Some of the key learning curve could be attributed to the resistive touch screen. Although it performed properly in most tasks, it was frustrating to use because it was pretty insensitive at times.
This device comes with a 2.0-megapixel camera, and in my tests the picture quality was mediocre, as the lack of a flash. Editing options include image quality, shooting modes (automatic, manual, portrait, landscape, sports, night), view along with other editing options (grid, color, self-timer, white balance, exposure, light sensitivity, contrast, sharpness and order). The video quality was medicore, and if it should be for a casual video on the go in order.
The Nuron was tested in the Charlotte region T-Mobile, and the quality was very good. Callers were able to hear me well and I had no problem to hear it on my end. When you visit a known T-Mobile hotspot in the metropolitan region of Charlotte, I had difficulty initiating calls. When testing the speakers in a crowded restaurant, I could hear my caller without question. I successfully paired my Plantronics Voyager Pro Bluetooth headset to the device without a problem, and for callers said that I immediately clear.

The Nokia Nuron offers 3G HSDPA connectivity via T-Mobile, so browsing speeds were very strong. The CNN mobile website in about nine seconds to load, and loaded the Phonedog Homepage in 27 seconds. Other data-intensive tasks such as the App Store and Telenav performed admirably.
The device offers a 1320mAh battery with a rated talk time of seven hours with HSDPA (3G) connectivity, and approximately 18 days standby time. With moderate to heavy use, including call, text message, surf the Internet and use of the Ovi Store, I could out of him about three days before it shut down. When it comes to battery life, the Nuron is absolutely fantastic.

Conclusion
The Nokia 5230 is Nuron a fantastic device for newcomers to the smartphone market. Sure, it’s not the device for a power-hungry smartphone fan, but my mom could have found a lot in this device. With stellar battery life and a host of PIM applications could make the Nuron for an excellent addition for frequent travelers. Currently it is free if purchased online (new, two-year agreement required), making it a fantastic opportunity. While T-Mobile offers a 14-day return policy, the device should check out the store before buying.
Nokia E73 Mode Symbian Phone Review
Jul 26th
The E73 and the E72-mode Kissin ‘Cousins. They share a lot of similar characteristics: both are world phones (they work here and overseas), only measure about the same (size and weight are 4.48 by 2.30 by 0.40 inches and 4.5 ounces) have complete QWERTY keypad, 2.4-inch color screens and 5-megapixel cameras (with or without video). Both phones have a full HTML browser, Adobe Flash (Lite) support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, turn-by-turn GPS directions (free for the life of your phone thanks to Ovi Maps), a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync client for Company E (this is in addition to POP3 and IMAP e-mail), IBM Lotus Traveler (in addition to the Nokia Messaging), Bloomberg News and much more.
The E73 also reserves the earlier model, the ability to switch modes on the phone, from business to personal settings. That is, you have two screens at home – one with important apps access to your corporate email and contacts, and the others all your personal belongings (including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and MySpace.
You are only one click away from access to Ovi-branded app Nokia’s store. One of the nice new features of the wedding of the E73 and T-Mobile is the ability for everything you buy pay from the App Store on your monthly phone bill or credit card. It’s a nice gesture, not available in several competitive App Store. The E73 comes with apps and games such as Shazam and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare loaded.

The handset also adds a number of important functions. The most important of all is that this phone is sold and marketed through T-Mobile. The E72 is unlocked only sold as a phone (and you had to your own contract with a GSM carrier (T-Mobile or AT & T in this country to negotiate) to using it.
And that means that the second most important characteristic of the E73 compatibility with 3G data on T-Mobile network. The E72 was nice, but sometimes a bit slow on the data recording. The E73 is a 3G phone now full world (quad-band GSM, EGSM EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA) and that makes a big difference to the general speed and feel of the device. T-Mobile boasts that this is the thinnest phone, it is sold. He believes that an important feature.
This phone runs on Symbian operating system from Nokia, Version 9.3 – also known as the famous S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2nd It’s Nokia’s tried and true OS (newer operating systems are in the works) and has tweaked a bit, so that they catch-up (a little) with modern operating systems such as iOS 4.0, Android and webOS. A significant change which is evident immediately Wi-Fi now remains when you turn it on. It used to be controlled by each app individually, will be turned off when using an app stopped. I am pretty sure that means the E73 can use more electricity than earlier models, but it also makes for a smooth user experience.
On the other hand Nokia makes as much as 12.5 hours battery life when using GSM networks and almost 6 hours for 3G connectivity. Nokia claims standby time is 16 to 22 days (GSM WCDMA). I did not test the phone long enough to determine whether these figures are correct. To be sure, my usual warning skeptical: “Your performance may vary” applies here. But even if you add in the usual mobile phone manufacturer’s Fudge Factor wishful calculating these amazing figures.

Overall, the E73 mode, a great smartphone. It is small and light, and now with lightning speed data download speeds make the E73 a very viable option. No, it does not sport a distinctive icon-loading, graphical user interface, but what it does the job and does it with finesse.
It handles my IMAP e-mail with composure, but I wish Nokia would make it easier to get my e-mail system synchronizes contacts and calendar. It’s a bit annoying when you really a Google-phone need best addressed all the specific mail from Google mail address calendar functions, a phone to Microsoft best with all Microsoft features and an iPhone deal with Apple stuff.

BUY NOKIA E73 MODE WITH NEW SERVICE PLAN WITH A 100% DISCOUNT!
Of course, Mail for Exchange will do the job, but I prefer to find solutions, such as in Android, IOS and webOS. Turn off the phone, enter your Gmail username and password, and you’re ready. E-mail, contacts and calendar sync all and you are ready to go.
Starting on 16 June, T-Mobile, the Nokia E73 Fashion for $ 69.99 with a two-year service contract. Do not forget, that includes lifetime access to voice-guided GPS navigation system, thanks to Nokia’s Ovi Maps. That alone is worth the price, but you get a great little phone in the business to be good.

Bit of wait for Nokia N8
May 14th
Nokia’s latest smartphone is not taken to England in the autumn, but it might be worth the wait.
The N8 uses a new 3 Symbian operating system, designed to match the performance and functionality of the iPhone and Android.
For example, it is to integrate support for gestures such as multi-touch, flick-scrolling and pinch-to-Zoom. It’s just a shame users have had for so long for such things, if they are generally available to wait elsewhere.
However, the handset itself looks nice and comes with an on-demand web TV and all the apps you can download from the App Store.
This is also the great Ovi Maps, presented this week in a plan so that owners use to give their own voice, their directions. Simply download the software and save your sweet tones, which he sees cause match.
Again, as its current competitors, there are different home screens for different occasions, which can be filled with must Apps and widgets as well as multitasking and all your social network.
Facebook and Twitter updates will also be combined in a single handy app, and you can put events from your calendar in your phone FB-own diary.
There is one aspect where it really outdo its competitors will, however, and this is the camera. It is a whopping 12-megapixel version with ace Carl Zeiss lens and powerful Xenon flash and a sensor that says Nokia will be digital cameras traditional rivals.
You will also be able to record high-definition video and edit the movies and pictures on the fly “with the handset of the integrated tools.
It will not be cheap, that is safe if you want Nokia N8 deals, but the networks are obliged to employ this service for free at a high price monthly fee or perhaps to ?100 for cheaper packages so you can also check out great Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 deals.
The problem is the new iPhone 4G could also start from the time this does not last, and 12 MP camera or not, it would be hard to steal the headlines, as the rest of the functions are so similar.

Nokia N75 Mobile Review
Apr 22nd
The Nokia N75 gets the grade as a flip phone with excellent voice quality and lightning-fast 3G data speeds, but some quirks design make this “multimedia computer” (as Nokia refers to it) is less than impressive. Cingular Video and music playback are bright spots, as well as the external music player and LCD controls. However, the entire package is too bulky, and some of the most important features are missing, given the high ($ 199) price.
With its matte black and silver finish, the N75 is not much to see. The frame is flat and blocky (See our photo gallery). On the front of the closed-grab, you will find a color with the Play button for the music player LCD. On the right side are volume controls, camera and music mode buttons and an IR receiver. The left edge sports a Nokia Power dock. We were disappointed to find neither a standard USB connector or a 3.5mm headphone jack, but that is typical of Nokia phones. A microSD slot on the left side of the phone holds more music, music, photos or Symbian OS applications.

On the shoulders resting in stereo speakers and a tiny black power button sits on top. Behind, you’ll notice, the removable battery and a two-megapixel camera with flash. The opening of the clamshell displays a large 2.4-inch color display, a keyboard and D-pad buttons. The keypad is certainly big enough, and we appreciate the small grooves on each button for no-look option, but we found the overall feel too smooth. Worse, the 9 key was rained during our tests.
The N75 main selling point is its 3G data speed and surfing the Internet, despite the fact that this phone the slower UMTS technology to support AT & T’s higher-speed HSDPA network in contrast. In addition to the Media Net browser, which often stumbles when formatting pages like CNN.com, you can also click on the Tools menu and open Nokia’s built-in browser, the raw, full-sized pages, complete shows with a cursor. But for the best experience we recommend downloading the Opera Mini browser.
Content-heavy sites like Google News and NYTimes.com loaded in less than five seconds. Streaming Videos buffered very fast (about 3 to 5 seconds), and AT & T offers a fair amount of content. For $ 19.99, you can subscribe to the Media Max 200 bundle and have unlimited access to news, sports, weather and channels. You can also purchase a subscription to HBO for $ 4.99 per month. We met on a few episodes of Entourage and, although we do not consider turning the phone sideways to see we were a little upset that the 30-minute episodes were rolled in ten two to three minute chapters.
Music playback was excellent on the N75, the media player handles all the music files we threw at it – MP3, M4A, AAC, eAAC + and WMA. You can not download songs over the air, just with Sprint and Verizon Wireless, but you can synchronize your PC to use subscription-based services like emusic.com, Napster and Yahoo Music. We really liked the music and external controls, the loud stereo speakers.

BUY NOKIA N75 NOW AND SAVE OVER $240!
The N75 also supports XM Radio Mobile ($ 8.99 per month) and MobiRadio ($ 8.99 per month). Sound from both services was buffered crystal clear and fast. We were disappointed with limited channel XM-range and some of the talk channels, including The virus, were not available. This clamshell phone supports FM radio, but you have to buy a headset from Nokia for $ 29.95, to use it.
Our biggest complaint is the lack of support for stereo Bluetooth and 3.5 mm standard headset cable. We were dismayed to see that despite the support of Bluetooth 2.0, the phone’s only played in mono mode on our Jabra Bluetooth headset.
The 2-MP camera photos taken with a good amount of detail, and there are many settings that help you the right shot, including scene modes, exposure and white balance. Too bad, had our picture a blue cast to them. The N75 records smooth-looking video, but on some occasions, we could not play our clips on the phone again. We were told to close some applications because the memory was full, even though our videos have been stored on the memory card.

BUY NOKIA N75 NOW AND SAVE OVER $240!
Technically, the N75 a smartphone will be called, because your contacts, calendar, sync tasks, and other PIM data via the included USB cable and PC Suite software. You can also click on IMAP and POP3 e-mail and Word, Excel and PowerPoint attachments. We consider this a productivity bonus features, as the telephone focus on “multimedia”.
Nokia N97 Mobile Review
Apr 14th
The new Nokia N97 smartphone is one of the most expensive phones out there. It is so powerful that Nokia is not simply referring to it as a phone – or even a smartphone. No, they have to be this new device as a “mobile computer”. It is packed with many advanced gadgets’s that like to have James Bond himself, but despite the powerhouse of features, this phone is not marketed as an “amazing touchscreen device on the market” (though the touch screen works very well).
It seems that touch-screen smartphones are the current trend at the moment. Since Apple came the trend-setters of the art, with the iPhone, almost every single mainstream phone has had a direct knock-off of Apple’s design. Well, most of Nokia’s definitely not jumping on this train. Although their phone does pack a lot of the same features as the iPhone, and not to take on a touch screen, it also has a full QWERTY keyboard, and is not under the same method to market their competitors.

BUY NOKIA N97 NOW AND SAVE OVER $210!
The Nokia N97 is just the latest phone in their line of products based on the S60 Platform. The 3.5 inch touch screen display provides digital homes never before seen on mobile. The resolution is 640 x 360 pixels, which is close to the dissolution of many desktop computers in full size at 10 years. This makes surfing the Internet with its built-in, full Web browser is a breeze. Integrated social networking utilities you update your MySpace and Facebook information directly from the main page.
You are not limited to simply display mobile websites. This fully functional integrated web browser can see virtually every Web page that a desktop computer might, as the same kind of browser that is used to full size computers. The Nokia N97 has so much power that they make faster websites and individual pages than any other smartphone. Combine this with 3G connectivity, and you have pretty much died and gone to heaven.
A full Web browser is not the only notable software of Nokia N97 comes with. Nokia Maps is also included, that gives you access to national and regional maps, whenever you need them. The Nokia N97 also has a widget system with many applications to choose from.

BUY NOKIA N97 NOW AND SAVE OVER $210!
The Nokia N97 is not unusually large, small, or out of the ordinary in the way of dimensions. As a phone with a sliding keyboard, it is a little thicker than phones that do not have a physical keyboard – but it is directly comparable with the thickness of the mobile phone of the same type. It is felt just under 16 mm thick for most to give you an idea of how this phone would have in the bag. In addition to this strength, the camera field rise another 2 mm or so. In the hand the phone feels very well balanced, and does not seem too big or small in any way. It may not carry the most comfortable phone is by the thickness in the pocket all day, that’s about the only fly in the ointment could come with concerns as far as size.
The target market for this phone is definitely the younger audience who prefer a modern, powerful phone, but features and the ability to trendy and brand names wow-factor like. Because of the unique features and the powerful sky-high asking price, who buys these phones must be in Gadgets, cell phones, or just someone who loves to be with the latest and best.
Nokia E63 Review
Apr 7th
The E63 is the latest QWERTY Messenger from Nokia, it was on 10 February 2009 published in the U.S.. As a conservative brother of the famous E71, it was confronted with much criticism, some of which are good, some were not very flattering. This review is intended to help them information about light and making the reader on an informed choice about their new acquisition this spring.
First, the new phone uses the same version of the operating system as the E71, which is a S60 3rd edition UI on Symbian OS v9.2 announced. They even have the same design blueprint to speculate that some people think it is the new E72, or a revision of the E71, so far when it was first revealed to lead, they are right.
Where the E63 is different from his older brother, but their economic development and costs. The Nokia E71 has a metal housing, the E63 has this replaced with a shiny plastic frame, this has apparently designed by Nokia for comfort, with the materials used are easy to grab and hold, even in wet or damp conditions.
The form factor of the E63 is also designed for easy operation with one hand, even while typing. The full-size QWERTY keyboard consists of small elongated buttons that are raised and sloped for a decent responsive are made as you type. Unfortunately, this has a side effect with a plasticky feel, and a squeaking noise, which, like running with a damp cloth over glass sounds. Regardless of this issue, I found the keyboard good enough for typing long e-mails and text messages. It has almost the same tactile feedback as the original BlackBerry Curve 2007. The keys are only slightly larger than the RIM device, but give a better answer.

BUY NOKIA E63 BLUE NOW AND SAVE OVER $100!
The screen is the same size as the E71, the 2.4 inch, 320×240 pixel display. It is clear and wide enough to read e-mails, text messages or surf the Web. All this was a joy to see how the screen is its form factor fits on a T.
It is also clear that Nokia E63 is the goal, young professionals, the constant access to the network (and their e-mails) need, but can not be bothered with more fancy features in a phone. To that end, Nokia have a dual home screen to the handset is available. One of the setups shows all the work functions, while the other leans entertainment and social functions. Of course all this is customizable to accommodate your specific needs.
There were a few other nice hand was on the E63 mighty useful and welcome. One of those was the torch: here you can activate the spacebar on the keyboard for a few seconds, you press a light at the back of the handset, press the button again will turn off. This is the same light from the camera to be used on the phone when in low light conditions.
The E63-Browser and Web-surfing skills are very good. There are some nice touches to the browsing experience with a preview window will appear on the long sides. This is useful to see where you are on the website, and how far it down. There is no automatic increase and decrease, as seen on the iPhone, instead it is an option to reduce the manual and enlargement of the pages for display.

On board of the phone is another invaluable service by Nokia Files on Ovi. This is a free 1GB online file storage for the exchange of files from PC to your Nokia mobile phone for use at any time, they consider a USB flash drive attached permanently to the Internet for personal use.
At the bads: Nokia has taken away some items and reduced in the transition from the E71, the E63. One is the camera that was a hit in 3.2 Megapixel 2 MP. It also removes the Mute, Volume Up Down on the page, this is moved to the D-Pad.

BUY NOKIA E63 BLUE NOW AND SAVE OVER $100!
The 3.5 mm audio jack is also up (been moved from the side) and in a more convenient place is set up, loaded to listen to the melodies E63.
Nokia has also completely cut out two important points that we thought was a disgrace: HSDPA connectivity and GPS, in spite of bundling Nokia Maps 2.0.
The OS is fast enough and very responsive, even though the phone menu options look a bit blocky and use less inviting.

BUY NOKIA E63 RED NOW AND SAVE OVER $100!
All in all, the Nokia E63 a good phone and comes with almost two thirds of the cost of E71. This is with little or no sacrifice at all. The handset can be used as business phone good budget to serve and also socially beneficial.
Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Review
Apr 2nd
The Nokia 5800 ‘Tube’ marks a turning point for Nokia’s music strategy, which ultimately developed into the new xSeries range. But there is still life in the XpressMusic series yet – and while the X6 takes things a step above, the 5530 brings the touchscreen-device music to the masses, sits below the 5800 in the product ladder. If at a younger market that are cost-oriented is still need to be seen with something trendy, then Nokia have scored a bit of an own goal, with cheap plastic, to give to the poor, there is a premium look try with a silver surrounded.
The sliding keypad lock button looks like it just by sneezing fall on them – although, fortunately, looks can be deceiving, and despite cheaper materials, it actually felt me very tightly. The phone is also equipped with a pen, like the original 5800th It is probably necessary here, as the screen is smaller, what a shame, because it is to break something loose or close the phone easily with one hand. The resistive screen but works surprisingly well, that you can use your finger for most applications – it is the option screens, which can cause a bit more effort as you try and navigate to them.

For the daily task of the phone numbers on the full screen keyboard or the input of numbers and text on the (landscape) QWERTY keyboard, we had no problems at all. One might almost think it is to be excused for a capacitive touchsceen, but it’s certainly not – and if you do not ensure the screen is locked when you are the phone in your pocket, you are here all the possible things you don ‘t want. During the 5800 came with integrated GPS, 3G and an 8GB memory card, Nokia has both GPS and 3G, and sent away with a 4GB memory card 5530. Of course, you can invest in a larger card at any time, and the 5530 supports cards up to 32GB.
Nokia also has the almost hidden XpressMusic key, just above the upper right of the screen – gives you easy access to key functions, including the music player and your message is sitting on hold. If you do this with the Comes With Music Service, with the decision for a year get completely unlimited and unrestricted music downloads, this is an offer very much cheaper than the 5800 – and ideal if you do not really care that you are on the Internet at harassed full throttle or using any type of navigation software. A simple wizard guides you through the setup process, although we found it a little on the slow side. On the imaging side, the phone comes with the 5800 the 3.2-megapixel camera and flash – and it can also record video at VGA (640×480 pixels). Okay, so it does not have a keyboard or the 5-megapixel camera of the N97, but there is not much else that is different in terms of the capabilities of the operating system. It is the latest Nokia E-mail client and support for the official Facebook application, although the BlackBerry or iPhone versions will be compared is the Nokia is only a small step up from using the mobile site. The relatively small screen makes the web browser difficult to use and navigate, and there is no iPhone-like kinetic scrolling. There is not a chance Nokia updated Web-browsing add in the future, some time after N97 of roles to users, but at the time of writing this review, it was to be confirmed. As a low-end model, Nokia can reserve some of the latest tricks of the flagship models.

The 5530 hearing is primarily about music, videos, podcasts or radio, and music player comes with a range of styles, which are adjusted by changing the subject. You can play music from the internal speaker (play fight, to see where they will join at the top and bottom of the phone) or a set of headphones through the 3.5mm jack. You can also use music with Bluetooth for wireless headphones or speakers. Video playback is decent, and the phone comes with PC software to re-encode existing content. Despite the cheap look, Nokia has a phone that is produced entirely adequate for listening to music, phone calls, send texts and take pictures. The operating system lets you do much more, but then begins the small screen and lack of 3G is likely to lead to disappointment.
Nokia E71 Review
Mar 31st
In this paper, we have to relieve a look at the Nokia E71, to the steps in the older Nokia E61i. What the company has done with the E71′s design is remarkable, as it made the once-bulky smartphone and turned it into an incredibly sleek QWERTY device. You lose a little in size screen and keyboard, but we think it manageable. Plus, with its strong messaging, productivity and connectivity features and solid performance, it is worth the small sacrifice. The only drawback is that it will be picked up yet from a U.S. carrier, your wallet will take a hit, as an unlocked version of the Nokia E71 will go for about $ 500.
Is the QWERTY keyboard is not gave it away, the Nokia E71 is a messaging-centric smartphone, although it certainly is not limited only to e-mail. The E71 works with Microsoft Exchange Server, POP3, IMAP and SMTP accounts and has a full attachment viewer. The device is also compatible with a number of push e-mail solutions, including Intellisync Wireless E-mail, Visto and Seven Always-On Mail. The E71 includes a new wizard to set up your e-mail as it automatically looks for the necessary settings to access your account. There is no instant messaging clients preloaded on the device, but you can certainly download software to do. In fact, there is a download catalog right on the device where you can find such titles. We would also suggest a look at CNET Download.com for more suggestions for third party applications.
