It is currently exclusive to Verizon for $ 50 with $ 100 mail-in rebate and a two-year service contract, both voice and data plan, which start at $ 39.99 and $ 29.99 respectively . covers. A Zune Pass, which the phone connects to unlimited streaming music, is an additional monthly fee.
The Kin One, together with its Hitachi in, larger cousin, the two children are the first of the Kin-platform devices. Kin was built from the ground up as a “social” operating a notch above typical feature phones, but without the complexity of a smartphone. The children succeed in a few places, but the overall experience is disappointing.
Basic navigation is generally fast and flexible, but sometimes there would be almost inexplicable delay – the phone would stop responding for five or ten seconds, and even crash once is permanent. When it crashed, the usual methods of resetting the device no longer works, and I let the battery in the course of several hours to run until he died (as I later discovered the battery is removable).

The case itself comes in a dark gray (carbon) plastic composite mixture, proved resistant and robust. Overall, the Kin One’s hardware is the nicest thing about the phone: It’s compact, handsome, strong and easy to hold and just fun to use.

Microsoft KIN TWO Windows Phone Review
Jul 9th
Design is her two children sit the Microsoft much more attractive than his siblings. It has a larger screen and roomier keyboard, as well. In our tests, we have determined to push the buttons are comfortable and nicely distributed. It is not on a par with the Sidekick, but it comes close.
We were impressed with the Microsoft Kin Two’s 8-megapixel camera. We took a few snapshots at the launch event that began in a dimly lit night club and were very impressed with how strong the flash was. Faces were highlighted nicely without completely blown out. Details appeared sharp and looked quite natural colors in test images. The Kin Two control even HD video.
Kin OS
Although it is a little overwhelming at first, Kin OS to navigate visually appealing and incredibly easy. The main screen, called loop shows your chosen friends’ status updates and news as well as your favorite RSS feeds in a colorful collage of text and images. Flick on the left side, and you will see a panel of all your applications, Flick right, and your contacts will see.
We also like how easy it is to share photos with your friends via the children was “commercial”. The spot is a green circle, which sits at the bottom of the screen. If you share a photo, video or news story from your RSS feed you want to just drag and drop in the spot. You may then want on the spot and decide whether to send it to your friends or upload them to one of your social networks.

The OS was a bit sluggish, while we were navigating through various menus, but this could be attributed to the fact that our test units were prototypes of devices.
Kin Studio: Useful, but problematic
If you capture photos or videos on your phone children, they are automatically uploaded to the server children. You can then look at your account log-Kin Studio on your PC and share your media – no USB cable or microSD card makes it easy to work with and without lengthy procedures to copy. This is an ideal function for the non-tech-savvy audience led Microsoft seems to be targeting with these phones.
But there is a big problem with the Kin Studio: You can not be deleted delete photos from your mobile phone without the Kin Studio. In some ways, Microsoft’s explanation makes sense to implement this. If a user wants to delete, say, an incriminating photo of a bar the night before, they probably want it completely erased from existence. But if you simply delete images to free some memory on your phone, this is a big problem, because the Microsoft Kin Two’s limited to 8 GB of memory (there is no microSD support). 8GB might look like much, but you would be surprised how fast that is filled with HD videos, photos and music.

We also wish there was a kind of photo editing or video editing software built into the studio. To edit a clip or a photo, you must first download to your PC, edit them into a third-party program, then upload it again to show the children the studio to share with your friends.
The Microsoft Kin two ships with the Zune media player for HD video and music playback. There’s also an FM radio.

Rumor: Microsoft Won’t Launch Project Pink Phones
Oct 7th

Earlier we showed you the first pictures of Microsoft’s first mobile phones, the Turtle and the Pure. If you do not remember, they are, we do not consider it against you! They should serve as entry to mid-level phones to SMS as a cost-effective machines for people who are acting with sending a lot of SMS messages, email or Twitter updates.
But we have not forgotten them, and not Microsoft. Decided, in fact, the company to deny its existence. Again, Redmond says that, that Microsoft sees no cell phones for themselves. This time is the official voice of Robbie Bach:
We’re not going to discuss the rumors, or discuss any of the things you might see or might read.
What will you talk about Microsoft? Would you be willing to discuss Project Pink? What will you say after you start the first Microsoft phone?
Microsoft’s Pink phones
Sep 25th

Gizmodo has a thin layer to Pink. Project Pink is Microsoft’s new phone for regular joes. We heard rumors about the software a few months ago, but the hardware as well as who is doing it been a secret. In any case, check out the first pictures of these pink phones, the turtle and pure.
The phones will be made by Sharp and pink, in the same market that the Sidekick will serve purposes. The turtle species looks like a toy palm before, while the Pure seems like a typical standard controller. Both are very … Round-ish, with soft angles. Apparently plastic.
Word is that Pink Zune service will include phones, too, and have their own App Store, making it quite a Zune phone.
