Blackberry Pearl 2 aka Stratus/Striker (9100) Leaks

The BlackBerry Pearl 2 will not be eligible for at least a few months, but a lot of information about them has already found its way through the Internet. An alleged copy of the phone has recently been advertised for sale on eBay, whereas earlier a few pictures of the device have been leaked on the Internet. Now it was an actual video showing the phone in action set up on YouTube.

At Best Mobile Contracts is the best Blackberry 9100 contract deals we could find.

The phone seems rather low, but still larger than the previous Pearl phones, according to author of the video. It has a new 3.2-megapixel camera with flash, and Wi-Fi, along with 3G support. The trackball has disappeared and is now being replaced by a trackpad, as used in the Curve 8530 and Bold 9700. On the side of the device, there are a few new multimedia keys.

The lack of a QWERTY keyboard can be deferred for many people, but the phone should be for those who have a “lighter” version of the standard Blackberry devices that do not need the extra business-oriented features like the QWERTY keyboard. Expected release date is around April.
