Samsung will pay $1.3 billion for Qualcomm patent licenses
Samsung has recently signed an agreement with Qualcomm, which it paid 1.3 billion U.S. dollars for the use of Qualcomm’s CDMA, WCDMA, and OFDMA patents for the next 15 years.
The 1.3 billion U.S. dollars will be paid in advance will be paid with additional license fees later.
According to Telecom of Korea, the 1.3 billion U.S. dollars, which amounts to approximately 80% of Samsung’s net income from Qualcomm of fiscal 2009 be received.
According to reports, the new agreement with Qualcomm, Samsung has been signed “under the best conditions,” thanks to the fact that the South Korean company Qualcomm’s biggest customer.
