Verizon launches Samsung u450 Intensity QWERTY messaging phone

Verizon Wireless has the new Samsung U450 intensity in its network. The intensity is a messaging device, a center slide-out QWERTY keyboard for use with its mobile instant messaging, e-mail and SMS messaging systems with thread features.

Aside from the obvious messaging capabilities, the intensity also offers a 1.3-megapixel camera with a dedicated shutter button, as well as support for popular services like Verizon’s V CAST Music with Rhapsody and Verizon VZ Navigator GPS-powered system. Music can synchronize the intensity over a USB connection to a desktop computer, and store the music on microSD (INFO), cards as large as 16GB in size (not included). Bluetooth support for headsets and stereo headphones is also included.

The intensity has a 2.1-inch, 176 x 220 pixel 262k color TFT display. The phone weighs 100 grams (3.5 oz) and measures 108mm x 53mm x 16.5mm (4.3in x 2.1in x .7 in) in size. 2G, the intensity of the battery is rated for 5 hours of talk time or 12.5 days of standby time.
