Motorola Calgary Runs On AndroidBeleaguered cellphone Motorola markers was large bets on the new Google Android mobile operating system. Now it looks like the first Android-powered handset is ready to market this year.The Motorola phone codenamed “Calgary” is a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and will focus on social networking tools like Facebook, according to the Boy Genius Report website. And it is on the Verizon network.

Meanwhile, competitor Motorola Samsung has already announced its first Android-based device. The Samsung I7500 with a 3.2-inch screen AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode known for its screen brightness and lower power consumption), 7.2Mbps HSDPA and WiFi connectivity. The device is also a 5-megapixel camera, full keyboard and 8 GB internal memory. The I7500 is used in some European countries from June.

Motorola is still speculation about Calgary and when will it start.
